Stroudsburg welcomes Winterfest

If you’re looking for some arctic activity to contrast the balmy weekend weather, head to downtown Stroudsburg Saturday and take in the wonders of Winterfest, with wine tastings, live music, art exhibits, and an ice sculpture scavenger hunt.

To kick things off, Sculpted Ice Works will apply the finishing touches to the oversized ice chair at Courthouse Square from 10 to 11 a.m.The daylong highlight of the fest will be the hunt, with participants searching for 32 cartoon character-themed ice sculptures positioned in front of local businesses. Hunters have to get a signature from a representative of the business where they find the sculpture for ticketsThe First Keystone Bank at 559 Main St. will host the student art show from 1 to 3 p.m.Stroudsburg Art Department Chair Leah McKain and Art Teacher Anna Baughman have assembled a collection of more than 50 pieces from local students, along with musical accompaniment by Stroudsburg music students.Starting at 4 p.m. you can catch the Trinity Centennial Orchestra featuring the Vocal Locals at the United Methodist Church at 547 Main St. The concert will support the Animal Welfare Society of Monroe.Feel free to round out the day with some high class entertainment, with local wineries hosting tastings from 5 to 7 p.m., along with musical performances from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.Juic’d at 564 Main St. will play host to “Origins Gallery on the Go!” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., an open arts exhibition featuring works in multiple mediums, live music from Robin Kaye from 6 to 7 p.m., an art raffle and a silent auction.
