Paul Ackerman, 28, of 2448 Tacoma Drive, Blakeslee, has been charged with simple assault, harassment, strangulation and disorderly conduct after Olyphant police responded to a homeon Susquehanna Avenue around 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

Ackerman is accused of pushing a woman to the ground and choking her at the address following an argument, according to court documents.He was released on $20,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
