Schuylkill County received just one bid for disposal of solid waste at the courthouse, prison, human services buildings, adult probation office, Mahanoy senior center and Schuylkill Transportation System building office.

Waste Management of Lancaster offered to do the job for three years for a total of $49,121.Commissioners will have the bid reviewed before making a decision.In other matters Wednesday, commissioners reminded residents the courthouse will be closed on Mondayin observance of Presidents Day.Also, commissioners approved a $43,604 agreement between the Emergency Management Agency and TAC One Solutions to provide the task force with law enforcement trainings.The funding will be paid through the Homeland Security grant program.Commissioners also approved Francis A. Spokas, of Tamaqua, John J. Houseknecht of St. Clair, and Mike Wozniski of Pottsville to one-year terms on the Board of Assessment Appeals.
