Voters in all five school districts in Carbon County, as well as those in Banks Township and Beaver Meadows in the Hazleton Area School District, will be electing members of the boards of education in each district in 2017.

The number of directors to be elected this time around, as well as the respective terms of the offices are:• Jim Thorpe Area School District - five directors, one for a two-year term and four for four-year terms.• Lehighton Area School District, six directors, two for two-year terms and four for four-year terms.• Palmerton Area School District - four directors, four-year terms.• Panther Valley School District - four directors, four-year terms.• Weatherly Area School District - five directors, one for a two-year term and four for four-year terms.• Hazleton Area School District (includes Banks Township and Beaver Meadows Borough in Carbon County) - four directors, four-year terms.
