Stasko heading to St. Vincent's

Palmerton High School senior Mike Stasko will continue his academic and athletic career at St. Vincent's College.

Stasko, a four-year varsity member of the Blue Bombers football team, played running back and defensive back for Chris Walkowiak's team.This past season, Stasko was named to the Colonial League First Team as a defensive back. He had 97 tackles, including 61 solo, and three interceptions, two which were returned for touchdowns. He also had three tackles for loss, three pass deflections and two fumble recoveries.Offensively, he totaled 1,722 all purpose yards, including 594 rushing and 745 receiving, and scored 20 touchdowns.He set Palmerton's career record for TDs with 46 and also holds the single-season record (21, which he set in 2015).Stasko, who has also participated in basketball and track, is the son of Mike and Stacey Stasko. He is also involved in Environmental Club, Student Council, Secretary of the Gridiron club and in his youth group at his church.He plans on majoring in criminology.
