State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks arrested Thomas Stanton, 27, of Shenandoah, for retail theft after he was caught shoplifting at 11:53 a.m. Jan. 28 at the Boscov's store in the Fairlane Village Mall, Norwegian Township.

Police said the store's loss prevention personnel observed him removing a baseball cap from the store.Upon being approached by security, Stanton dropped the merchandise and ran from the store, fleeing as a passenger in a vehicle that police later stopped in St. Clair.
