West Penn Township this week:

• Agreed to spend $2,424.41 from the land development funds that must be used by Feb. 26, as well as $1,205, for a total of $3,629, for the park improvement on Route 443. The funds are a deposit for a pavilion to be built at West Penn Park East. The bid was awarded to David Heckman, Hygrade Building Systems, for a total of $5,077.• Agreed to meet with the Park Commission at 7 p.m. Feb. 20.• Approved the South Tamaqua Coal Pockets Maintenance agreement transfer from STCP to Keystone.• Agreed to send Supervisor Ted Bogosh to the PSATS Conference April 23-26.• Agreed to appoint Lehigh Engineering as the engineering firm for the township, as well as its planning commission.— Terry Ahner
