Minimart gets liquor license

Carbon Mini Mart’s recent acquisition of a liquor license from Kidder Township will be subject to a public hearing this week.

Among numerous changes to beer sales, House Bill 1690 made the sale of six-packs at permanent gas stations legal this summer when Gov. Tom Wolf signed off on the order as part of his mission to “modernize the sale of beer and liquor in Pennsylvania.”Other measures in Gov. Wolf’s reform included expanded sales hours for alcohol sales, permission of mail order sales, and the introduction of wine sales at food stores.

The Carbon Mini Mart and Sunoco station on Delaware Avenue in Palmerton has acquired a liquor license from Kidder Township. A hearing for the license will be held at the borough hall next Thursday. BRIAN W. MYSZKOWSKI/TIMES NEWS
