A Lehighton man has been found guilty of methamphetamine trafficking.

The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced Monday that Eric Mann, 27, pleaded guilty on Friday before U.S. District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion, to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.According to United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, Mann admitted to possessing about 250 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it in Lehighton in September 2016.Judge Mannion ordered a presentence investigation to be completed. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.The case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Jim Thorpe Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa is prosecuting the case.The maximum penalty under federal law is 20 years in prison, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
