A vehicle stop led to the discovery of a large quantity of untaxed cigarettes.

State police at Fogelsville stopped a vehicle about 8:43 p.m. on Jan. 15 along Interstate 78 eastbound in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County, for traffic violations. The driver was identified as Saidjon Tursunov, of Brooklyn, New York.A consent search of the vehicle resulted in 31 cartons of untaxed cigarettes being found. The resale value of the cigarettes in New York City was estimated at $3,865. Tursunov has been charged with possession of untaxed cigarettes.
