Carbon County woman pleads guilty in 3 drug-related cases

A Carbon County woman entered guilty pleas in three pending drug-related cases on Monday in the county court.

Suzanne Dee Frohnheiser, 25, of Jim Thorpe pleaded guilty before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II to three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of a controlled substance.Frohnheiser was arrested by Jim Thorpe police on all the drug counts. Two of the paraphernalia charges stem from incidents on Sept. 5 and 17, 2016, along North Street. The possession count and the third paraphernalia charge occurred on Oct. 16, 2016, in the area of 421 North St., where officers found crystal methamphetamine in Frohnheiser's possession. In that case a more serious charge of possession with intent to deliver was dropped in a plea bargain.Frohnheiser admitted to a drug addiction problem and told the court her boyfriend recently died of a heroin overdose. A mother of four, she told Nanovic, "I have a drug addiction problem. I just want to get my children back." Three of the children are in foster care in Luzerne County.Defense attorney Adam Weaver said his client also has mental health issues.On the possession count Nanovic sentenced her to serve one to 12 months in prison, and on the other charges two years of probation, consecutive to the prison term. She was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow all recommendations for treatment, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and probation.She was given credit for 81 days already spent in jail on the charges and paroled.
