Have you grown tired with your old reading material? Looking for something new and exciting?

Make sure to swing by the Palmerton Area Library sometime this February, and you might just fall in love with a new story at the Blind Book Date."The idea of it is, some people get stuck in a rut," library director Diane Danielson said. "You feel like you're reading the same thing, over and over again, and you never know how to find something new. So this is your chance - you get a little clue to see if it might be something you like, try something new."The staff have selected some personal favorites from the shelves, and the library's teen group - who sponsors the event - added an element of mystery to the mix."The teen group wrapped them and put the little clues on the packaging, like, 'If you're a dog lover, you'd love this book.' Just a little hint to get you interested," Danielson said.Last year's event was quite popular, and Danielson said that many participants were so enamored with their selection that they came back for more titles from the same author or genre.In addition, for each title that is checked out, you can enter your name in drawing for a $50 gift certificate for the Palmerton Chamber of Commerce, contributed by the Friends of the Library.If you're looking to expand your reading list and check out some interesting new titles, the Blind Book Date starts this Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
