Schuylkill man faces various drug charges

A Schuylkill County man is facing various drug charges following a search of his home by state police.

Troopers at the Frackville barracks, along with members of the Troop L vice/narcotics unit and members of the county drug task force, executed a search warrant a the home of Robert Miller, 40, of 301 New St., Pottsville, New Castle Township, on Jan. 19.As a result of the search, several bags of suspected methamphetamine were recovered, as well as U.S. currency and drug paraphernalia.At the time of the search it was learned that Miller had three active criminal arrest warrants for him issued out of Schuylkill County and one out of Northumberland County.He was taken to on-call District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, where he was arraigned on two previous drug charges.Bail was set at $50,000 straight cash which Miller could not post and was committed to the county prison in Pottsville.On Jan. 24 additional criminal charges were filed against Miller as a result of the search warrant.He was charged with one felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.He was arraigned before Plachko on the new charges and bail was set at $50,000 straight cash. He was then returned to the county prison.
