Woman to face trial on charges of making meth

A Palmerton woman accused of making methamphetamine will go to trial on the charges.

On Wednesday, Kelly A. Yurkunas, 39, waived a preliminary hearing on felony charges related to producing methamphetamine. Yurkunas was arrested on Jan. 13, after police executed a search warrant at her home.During the search, they allegedly found various items used for making methamphetamine, including boxes of cough medicine and, plastic funnels and tubing and other items used in a "one pot" methamphetamine laboratory.Yurkunas was arrested after being transported to Palmerton Hospital. She faces four felony counts related to making methamphetamine.She is in jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
