Man pleads guilty in crash that injured boy, 12

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - A man accused of street racing before a crash that injured a 12-year-old boy in northeastern Pennsylvania has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and related charges.

Twenty-one-year-old Paul Butkiewicz, of Plymouth, pleaded guilty Monday in Luzerne County to two counts of aggravated assault by vehicle and three counts of reckless endangerment as well as traffic counts.Police said Butkiewicz was racing another driver in Kingston in September 2015 when he collided with the passenger side of a turning pickup truck, leaving the boy with severe brain damage, broken ribs, and severe trauma to his right leg.Butkiewicz faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced April 3.---Information from: The Citizens' Voice,
