Walker Township has a new solicitor in place.

The township's board of supervisors hired attorney Chris Riedlinger as its solicitor at a rate of $100 per hour.Riedlinger was appointed to the post at the end of a joint meeting held last week between Walker and West Penn Township to review the proposed Act 537 Plan, and to discuss any additional comments before submission to the state Department of Environmental Protection.He replaces Mike Greek, who had served as Walker's solicitor before he resigned, effective Dec. 31, 2016.Riedlinger, who has a Pottsville office, also serves as solicitor for the Rush Township board of supervisors.
