PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Two teenage robbers got more than they bargained for when a pizza delivery man pulled out his own gun and returned fire after they wounded him in southwest Philadelphia.
The incident began Monday night when the victim was sent out for a delivery at a home that ultimately turned out to be vacant.Lt. John Walker says the 36-year-old driver for Chester Family Pizza was immediately met by two armed teens who announced a robbery.The victim was shot in the left side and arm after attempting to escape. Walker says the man dropped the pizzas, pulled out a 9 mm handgun and fired several shots at his fleeing assailants.No arrests have been made. The victim, who police say is properly licensed to carry, remains hospitalized in stable condition.
