State Police at Lehighton report on the following crashes:
• Kody J. Barnhart, 21, of Palmerton, escaped injuries after a vehicle he was driving struck a deer on Route 209, Interchange Road, in Franklin Township, at 1:22 a.m. Saturday.Police said he was driving a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta that was pulled over onto the shoulder of the road when they arrived. Police said Barnhart told them he struck the deer, causing the vehicle to be disabled, after which time he was able to get the car off the roadway.The vehicle was towed from the scene.• Eric J. Samson, 31, of Saylorsburg, was cited by state police at the Lehighton barracks after a one-vehicle crash at 12:35 a.m. Jan. 16 on the Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township.Police said he was driving a 2014 Subaru Impreza northbound when he lost control of the vehicle. The car went off the east shoulder and the passenger side struck a tree. It continued northeast over a road sign, struck another tree and came to rest against the tree, facing northeast about 15 feet east of Forest Inn Road. He was not injured.• Amy L. Rehrig, 37, of Palmerton, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 4:28 p.m. Jan. 16 on the Mountain Road in Ross Township.Police said she was driving a 2015 Kia Soul westbound and was negotiating a left turn in the roadway when the driver veered the vehicle onto the right shoulder. After she overcompensated attempting to bring the car back onto the roadway, it went on the northbound side of the road and struck two trees.Police said she will be cited in the crash.
