A two alarm fire early this morning has destroyed a home in Lansford.

The fire was reported just after 4 a.m. at 316 W. Patterson St. When firefighters from throughout Carbon and Schuylkill counties arrived on scene they found flames and smoke pouring from the two story wood frame dwelling.

Authorities report the owner of the home, Bridget Horvath was not home at the time of the fire.

One fireman was reported to be injured in the incident although his condition is unknown.
