Fog advisory in effect for the region

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a dense fog advisory, which in effect from 10 p.m. tonight to 10 a.m. Sunday.

Visibility is one quarter mile or less at times.

Travel will be difficult. If driving, slow down and leave plenty of room in front of you.

The forecast:

Tonight: Areas of drizzle after 11pm. Areas of dense fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 38. Calm wind.

Sunday: Areas of drizzle with a chance of showers before 9am, then areas of drizzle with a chance of rain between 9am and 10am, then a chance of rain after 10am. Areas of dense fog before 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 48. Calm wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday Night: Periods of rain. Low around 38. East wind 10 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Monday: Periods of rain before 9am, then rain and sleet between 9am and noon, then periods of rain after noon. High near 39. Breezy, with an east wind 17 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.

Monday Night: Periods of rain. Low around 37. East wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Rain likely, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 42. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
