2 men convicted in 2012 slaying of Easton disc jockey

EASTON, Pa. (AP) - Two men have been convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy in the shooting death of a Pennsylvania disc jockey more than four years ago.

Jurors in Northampton County deliberated for two days before convicting 36-year-old Patrick Hughes, of Easton, and 37-year-old Omar Robinson, of Palmer Township, on Friday. Both face mandatory life terms without possibility of parole when they are sentenced in February in the November 2012 death of 43-year-old Easton disc jockey Ervin Holton.Prosecutors alleged that Hughes masterminded the slaying because Holton had begun dating his ex-girlfriend, and Robinson was one of two gunmen. Defense attorneys argued that their clients were charged without sufficient evidence.Hughes' lead attorney, Brian Monahan, called the trial fair but vowed an appeal because of the life-without-parole sentence. Robinson's lawyer declined comment.
