Man waives in case with girl, 16

A Northampton County man is in custody for corruption of minors and indecent exposure.

Samuel Dotter of Walnutport waived his right to a preliminary hearing before District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton.Dotter pleaded guilty to the charges of corruption of minors and indecent exposure.According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Detective Kevin Buck of the Palmerton Police Department:On Aug. 7, it was reported that a 16-year-oldfemale had received several electronically transmitted pictures of a male's private area that were sent to her via Facebook by a user identified as Sam Dotter.Through a search warrant, police found evidence that Dotter contacted the victim via Messenger and held a conversation with her.After several messages back and forth, Dotter sent the victim five pictures of his private area.At that time, the victim told Dotter her age, and he responded that he would "definitely" have sex with her.Dotter sent three more pictures to the victim, who said she then blocked him on Facebook and contacted the Palmerton Police Department.On Sept. 26, Buck received three different phone numbers linked to Dotter. Buck tried to call all three numbers, but found two of them to be disconnected and a third one belonged to someone else.Buck contacted the Walnutport Police Department, and requested that they make contact with Dotter at his residence.Dotter was told to contact Palmerton Police Department immediately, but he failed to do so.On Sept. 27, Buck went to the residence in Walnutport, but was unable to make contact with him there, though he was able to speak with him on a different phone number.Dotter told Buck he would come to the Palmerton Police Department later that day. However, Dotter failed to show or contact Buck.Police arrested Dotter and he is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000, 10 percent bail.
