Schuylkill fire caused by propane tank

A fire that destroyed one home and damaged two others in Shenandoah on Wednesday morning was caused by a supplemental propane heating source, a state police fire marshal has ruled.

The fire was discovered about 9:16 a.m. at 228 W. Centre St. Shenandoah Fire Department as well as neighboring fire companies responded to the blaze.The home was completely engulfed in flames when firemen arrived. Trooper Joseph W. Hall said 226 and 230 W. Centre St., received minor fire, smoke and water damage.Hall said the propane tank was located on the first floor near the front living room of the home. No one was injured in the incident.
