Monroe approves contracts to help four shelters

Four shelters in Monroe County have received contracts to continue to provide services to county residents during emergency circumstances from the Emergency Solutions Grant for fiscal years 2016-2018,

Catholic Social Services emergency shelter will receive $24,362.Resources for Human Development and Street Outreach will receive $139,700 and the Salvation Army emergency shelter will receive $60,117.Women's Resources will receive $40,626 for its shelter.Each agency will have to provide the county with current proof of insurance to receive the funds.The commissioners also agreed to contract for provider services with a number of attorneys. Kathleen Walters and Robert Saurman as special public defenders.Deborah Huffman will serve as a plaintiffs advocate and Jennifer Wise will act as a defendant's advocate in protection from abuse matters.The law firm of Royle and Durney was hired to act a solicitor for the Assessment Office and Tax Claim Bureau at an annual cost of $35,410.A grant was executed from the Department of Environmental Protection for Mosquito-Borne Disease Control in the amount of $45,000.Service and support agreements were approved for Johnson Controls for a three-year period for the METASYS system and CSI for the alarm system at the Public Safety Center and GeographIT for on-call technical support for the GIS mapping software.PrimeCare Medical Inc. will supply 24/7 blood draw services for the DUI Center at a cost of $47,133.72 to be paid out of fines for driving under influence arrests.Several change orders were approved for contracts related to the repairs and upgrades on 708 Main St.
