Fern Ridge State Police crashes

State police at Fern Ridge responded to the following crashes:

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 8:04 p.m. Jan. 5 on Wellington Road in Jackson Township.Police said Anthony A. Marmo, 36, of Henryville, was driving a 2004 Volvo S80 southbound and was traveling too fast for conditions of the roadway. While negotiating a left curve in the road, he lost control, leaving the road and striking two large rocks. The vehicle sustained minor damages.Marmo fled the scene. He was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.• Charles O. Bubar, 76, of Effort, was cited by state police with following too closely after a two-vehicle crash at 11:50 a.m. Jan. 6 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.He was driving a 2007 Nissan Sentra northbound when it failed to stop for a 2016 Acura MDX operated by Carole M. Geary, 53, of Sciota.Geary was waiting to make a left-hand turn when her vehicle was struck from behind by the Sentra. Neither driver was hurt.• Three vehicles sustained minor damages in a chain-reaction crash at 8:13

a.m.Saturday on Route 715 in Jackson Township.Police said the crash occurred when the driver of a 2003 Ford F350 became distracted and did not realize traffic was stopped in front of his vehicle.The truck crashed into the rear of a 2007 Kia Sportage, pushing it into the rear of a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze. No one was injured.Police did not release the names of those involved.• Three vehicles were damaged in a crash at 3:53

p.m.Sunday on Route 209, near Pleasant Valley High School in Brodheadsville.State police said a 2011 Ford F250, operated by Michael J. Roselli, 37, of Brodheadsville, was southbound on the highway when the operator failed to see other vehicles stopping in front of his vehicle.The truck struck the rear of a 2016 Subaru Legacy driven by Justin M. Simons, 21, of Saylorsburg, pushing that vehicle into the rear of a 2016 Audi A4 operated by Matthew Vadell, 20, of Brodheadsville.A 7-year-old boy from Saylorsburg was a passenger in Roselli's truck.Passengers with Simons were Monica L. Andrews, 21, and a 1-year-old boy, both from Kunkletown.Eric J. Mikulski, 20, of Saylorsburg was a passenger with Vadell. All were secured appropriately in the car and were not injured.• A 17-year-old boy from Effort was cited with failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 6:39

p.m.Monday on Gilbert Road in Chestnuthill Township.Police said he was driving a 2011 Mercedes-Benz southbound and was traveling too fast for conditions and passing vehicles where passing is not permitted.The teen lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into an embankment and shrubbery on the right side of the road.The vehicle sustained damages to its passenger-side bumper and fender, the windshield and a tire.The teen was not injured.
