A Tamaqua driver was cited following a crash that occurred at 5:59 a.m. Monday along Route 100 at Mohr Lane in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County.

Township police said John D. Bieniek, 50, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2010 Hyundai Accent southbound and approaching the intersection with Mohr Lane while Javielito Claudio, 36, of Allentown, driving a 2017 Freightliner truck with trailer was northbound. Police said Bieniek crossed the center line with his vehicle hitting the rear driver's side of the trailer with the left front driver's side. No one was injured.Damages were severe to the Accent, which was towed from the scene. The trailer's rear tires had to be replaced. Police cited Bieniek for careless driving.
