A Slatington woman died in a crash early Wednesday morning.

According to the Lehigh County Coroner's office, Betty J. Peters, 91, was pronounced dead at 7:32 a.m. in front of 4039 Levans Road, Schnecksville.

An autopsy was performed this morning. The cause and manner of death are pending toxicology testing.

The incident occurred at 7:11 am. When the car she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. The death is being investigated by the coroner's office and the Pennsylvania State Police.
