Carbon Parole/probation revocation
Parole/probation revocation hearings were held by Carbon County judges on petitions filed by the adult probation office against defendants who violated the terms of their release.
Kyle Heine, 22, of Lehighton, had his probation revoked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of probation officer Derek George for violating conditions by failing to report to the probation office as directed, absconded from his approved residence, tested positive for controlled substances on several occasions, has not made a concerted effort to pay court costs, was unsuccessfully discharged from inpatient rehab program and failed to complete drug and alcohol treatment.Judge Steven R. Serfass resentenced him to serve 90 days to 12 months in the county prison with the effective date of Dec. 1, 2016. His minimum release date is March 1.Tammi Richardson,42, of Lehighton, had her probation revoked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of George for violating conditions by testing positive for a controlled substance which violated the zero tolerance condition.Serfass resentenced him to serve 45 days to 12 months in the county prison effective Dec. 19, 2016, with her minimum released date of Feb. 2.Jeremy Tobin,38, of Nesquehoning, had his probation revoked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of probation officer Clifford Eckhart for violating conditions by testing positive for a controlled substance which violated the zero tolerance condition.Judge Joseph J. Matika resentenced him to serve six to 12 months in the county prison with credit for 21 days already served. He is eligible for work release program.Kerri Garner, 39, of Jim Thorpe, had his probation revoked on a charge of retail theft on petition of probation officer Joseph Bettine for violating conditions by failing to complete 25 hours of community service.Matika resentenced him to serve one to three months in the county prison effective March 1 at 9 a.m. However, if he completes the 25 hours of service by that date the sentence will be vacated.Salvatore Azzaro, 22, of Weatherly, had his probation revoked on a charge of resisting arrest on petition of Bettine for violating conditions by not making a concerted effort to pay court costs, owning $1,506.33, failing to obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow all recommendations and failing to complete 50 hours of community service.Matika resentenced him to serve three to six months in the county prison effective April 3. However, if he obtains a drug and alcohol evaluation and follows all recommendations, pay $1,506.33 in court costs and completes the 50 hours of community service by that date the sentence will be vacated.Jesus Rolon,36, of Lehighton, had his parole revoked on a charge of possession of a controlled substance on petition of George for violating conditions by testing positive for a controlled substance, and failing to submit to urine screens, which violated the zero-tolerance condition.Matika resentenced him to serve 120 days in the county prison effective Nov. 8, 2016, with his minimum release date of March 8.Chandler George,21, of Lehighton, had his probation revoked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of Bettine for violating conditions by being arrested by Mahoning Township police on other drug charges.Matika resentenced him to serve 202 days to 12 months in the county prison as of Dec. 15, 2016.Sara Cilente,23, of Summit Hill, had her parole revoked on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by testing positive for a controlled substance, which violated the zero-tolerance condition.Matika resentenced her to serve 30 days in the county prison effective Jan. 11 at 9 a.m. She will serve the time on consecutive three-day weekends.
