A vehicle stop led to the arrest of a Schuylkill County woman on outstanding arrest warrant, and additional charges when she was committed to the county prison in Pottsville.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Dawn Herring, 36, of Valley View, was stopped along the Gordon Nagle Trail, near West Market Street, in Pottsville, at 11:49 p.m. Dec. 30.It was learned that Herring had an outstanding bench warrant issued out of Dauphin County. She was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Pottsville. While being processed at the prison, Herring was found to have a controlled substance hidden under her bra.Troopers charged her with possession of a controlled substance, contraband into a prison, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while under suspension.
