In regards to Lansford Borough Council raising property taxes 3 percent for the 2017 budget.First of all Lansford Borough is the highest borough in Carbon County, with the highest property tax rate at 34.55 mills. If you are selling your property start at an asking price at double the assessment value of the property.To sell your property in Lansford borough, you have to just about give it away.The value of your property drops every year but your taxes go up every year. If the assessed value of property dropped 1 percent in 2016, due to property owners having their homes reassessed at a lower value.Why didn't the taxes on the property come down?
