St. Luke's nurse is charged with indecent assault

A St. Luke's nurse has been charged with indecent assault.

District Attorney Jim Martin announced Wednesday that John Spanogle, 30, of 1727 N. New St., Bethlehem, was charged with one count of indecent assault.On Dec. 14, 2016, Spanogle was working as a nurse in the Internal Radiology Department at St. Luke's University Hospital, 801 Ostrum St., Bethlehem, where the victim had a test performed.After the procedure was completed, Spanogle allegedly made inappropriate comments to the victim. He then transported her back to her room and made additional comments of a sexual nature while they were in transit.Once in the victim's room, the defendant touched her and exposed himself to her.The victim reported the incident, which was investigated by Detective Andrew Millen, sex abuse and child abuse investigator for the District Attorney.Martin noted that the hospital's security personnel and the administration were cooperative in this investigation.
