A tractor trailer rig and a car collided along Interstate 81 at 9:47 a.m. on Monday in Delano Township, Schuylkill County, with only one minor injury reported.
State police at Frackville said George W. Stuffick, 49, of Luzerne, Luzerne County, was driving a 2014 Honda Civic southbound in the left lane and Diriye A. Farah, 36, of Buffalo, New York, was operating a 2009 Freightliner tractor with trailer in the right lane. Troopers said Stuffick traveled into Farah's lane of travel where the Civic struck the front end of the truck.After impact the Civic spun clockwise off the west bern and through 150 feet of guard rail and a PennDOT sign. The rig went onto the west berm and continued down a 50-foot embankment where it came to rest.Farah sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton Campus by Ryan Township ambulance. Stuffick and his passenger, Melissa L. Neyhart, 47, of Cresco, Monroe County, were not injured. Both vehicles were towed.Troopers cited Stuffick for the crash.
