The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a winter weather advisory for freezing rain and snow in effect from 11 a.m. Tuesday to 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Snow accumulation will be up to 1 inch...with ice accumulation up to a tenth of an inch.
A period of snow is likely in the late morning to early afternoon hours Tuesday. Additional mixed precipitation will move into the region late in the afternoon and evening on Tuesday.
Ice and snow accumulations may create slippery road conditions.
Temperatures around 30 but rising slowly above freezing Tuesday night.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.
