A Kunkletown man has no luck when it comes to hiring a prostitute.
Frank Marks, 54, of Blue Mountain Court, thought he was meeting a woman he offered to pay for sex on Jan. 6. Instead, he was met by agents of the Monroe County District Attorney's Office. In November 2016, Marks began sending messages to a women he contacted on Facebook. He continued sending messages in November and December, despite not receiving any replies. On Jan. 4, he thought he got lucky after sending the woman a message offering her an opportunity to make some cash. That offer began a back and forth conversation with someone who turned out to be a Monroe County detective.A meeting was set up for Jan. 6 at a Stroud Township Hotel. Instead of finding a woman interested in trading sex for cash, Marks was met by members of the Monroe County District Attorney's Office, who charged him with a felony count of promoting prostitution and a misdemeanor count of patronizing a prostitute.Marks admitted to officers that he had been arrested on similar charges in 2012, when he offered drugs in exchange for sex on a Craigslist posting. He pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, while charges of patronizing a prostitute, criminal use of a communications facility and possession of a controlled substance were all withdrawn. An arraignment date is yet to be set in the court of Magisterial District Judge Daniel Higgins, Stroud Township.
