STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) - A California woman has been sentenced to life without parole in the killing and dismemberment of a northeastern Pennsylvania man more than 14 years ago.

Forty-eight-year-old Stacy Britton of Twentynine Palm was sentenced Friday in Monroe County. A jury convicted her of first-degree murder in the July 2002 slaying of 46-year-old Robert Roudebush, whose charred remains were found in two burn barrels.Police allege Britton and her then-husband, James Britton, repeatedly stabbed Roudebush in a Wilkes-Barre home, beat him with a hammer and then dismembered his body in the residence because they thought he had stolen drugs and money.James Britton pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and was sentenced to 15-30 years in prison.The Brittons were arrested in 2015 after Stacy Britton came forward to confess.
