The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has issued in invitation for bids to awards 50 expired restaurant licenses in the second license auction since Act 39 became effective.
The auction includes 50 licenses across 48 counties.There is one license in each of the following local counties: Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Montour, Northampton and Schuylkill.Licenses were in high demand for Lehigh County in the first auction.This second auction is intended to further test and evaluate the market reaction while also maximizing auction revenue and preserving the value of existing, non-expired licenses.The second auction will again use a sealed bid process. Bids for the licenses are due by noon on March 3. Bids will be opened and auction winners will be determined the week of March. 6.The highest responsive bidder for each license will win the right to submit an application for the license to the PLCB within six months of auction award.Bidder with questions regarding this invitation for bid must submit inquiries via email to RA-LBLicenseAuction@pa.gov by noon Jan. 25.
