Classes are in session in Polk Township after fire crews were called to the building this morning.

At 8:40 a.m., it was reported that there was a haze in a hallway on the lower level of Pleasant Valley Elementary School before school started. The staff was evacuated as a precaution and the fire department was contacted to check the building.All students were held on their buses until the building was cleared at approximately 9:25 a.m. Parents were notified and the building resumed normal operation.
