Carbon woman admits to DUI, drug count

A Carbon County woman admitted to a drunk driving charge and drug count in two pending cases. She was one of 17 defendants to enter guilty pleas in the county court before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

Angeliese Marie Bieling, 30, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident on Jan. 4, 2015, in the area of 376 Indian Hill Road in Franklin Township with charges filed by state police in Lehighton.In the second case, she pleaded to driving under the influence for an incident on Jan. 3, 2015, at Forest Inn and Stony Ridge roads in Lower Towamensing Township, also by state police at Lehighton. In that case a count of possession with intent to deliver and two firearms violations were dropped in a plea bargain.Nanovic placed her on probation for a year in the paraphernalia case, consecutive to the other case. On the second case she was sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison followed by 35 months in the county’s Intermediate Punishment Program with the first 60 days on electronic monitoring, pay a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year and follow all recommendations of her drug and alcohol evaluation.She was given credit for 26 days spent in jail on the charge and began serving the remaining four days at noon Dec. 26.
