Cindy Miller, of Tamaqua's Summershanty Fiber Arts Center, will be teaching a class on weaving on a rigid heddle loom this month at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.

Participants will learn how to make a unique, handwoven scarf during the two classes.Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 21 and Jan. 28.The $60 fee covers both classes, use of a loom, warp and weft threads, shuttle and instructions. Miller will also discuss the history of weaving, parts of the loom and the different types of weaving.
