Tamaqua police cited Sherri Rotan, 43, of Park Drive, West Penn Township, after a confrontation on Dec. 26.

Officers were called to the rear of the 300 block of Hazle Street at 4:21 p.m. for a reported assault. Rotan and a 23-year-old Tamaqua woman gave differing versions of events, although the final stages were caught on surveillance footage.Rotan admitted going to the other woman's home to confront a third person, a man. The two women began arguing and both claimed the other threw the first punch.The younger woman ran to the police station after her glasses were broken, telling officers she tried to defend herself by throwing a punch in order to escape Rotan's blows.Rotan said she ran to the police station with the younger woman, but video clearly shows her chasing the victim. She was cited for harassment.
