State police at Schuylkill Haven said Matthew G. McCabe, 27, of Gilberton, was driving a 1989 Ford F-150 north on Route 61 in North Manheim Township at 4:05 p.m. Dec. 26 when he went through the red light at the intersection at Mount Carbon Arch Road and struck a 2006 Ford Escape operated by Larry L. Wetzel, 75, of Valley View, which was crossing the intersection at a steady green light.

McCabe was issued a citation by police for running the red light.
