East Penn Township board of supervisors

William Schwab remains East Penn Township board of supervisors’ chairman after Tuesday’s reorganization meeting.

The vice chair position was appointed to Deanna Cunfer, who also serves as the township’s treasurer.The township has appointed its second solicitor in less than a year as former assistant solicitor Robert Frycklund was appointed as the lead attorney for the township and Jason Rapa was appointed to the assistant position for planning, zoning and permitting issues.“Jenny (Cheng) didn’t want to be reappointed due to family matters,” Schwab told the residents.Carl Faust of Blue Mountain Inspection was appointed as zoning officer at a rate of $500 per month and with Marge Faust appointed as alternate zoning officer. Faust will also serve as UCC inspector and building code official for the township.Robert Kleintop Jr., will continue to serve as the fire chief for the East Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company. The assistant chief position remained vacant at the time of the meeting.The reconfigured board voted to hold a town-hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28, in the social hall. The board encourages residents to bring their ideas and concerns regarding the revamp of the hall and future road work. According to Schwab, the board intends to repair an additional 7 miles of roadway in the township during 2017.
