The coming year will look very much the same as 2016 in Penn Forest Township. The board of supervisors reorganized Tuesday night with only a few changes.

Supervisor Judy Knappenberger was absent from the meeting and did not take part by conference call.Warren Reiner will remain chairman and Christine Fazio will take over as vice chairwoman for 2017. The previous vice chairman, Phillip Shedaker had resigned last year and no replacement was named.Susan Gibiser will continue as secretary and assistant treasurer. Tammy McMahon will continue in the position of township treasurer. Thomas Nanovic will remain township solicitor at a rate of $115 per hour.Fazio will continue to act as the liaison between management and employees and will act as the township human resources manager. Reiner will continue in the position of roadmaster with supervisor Roger Meckes taking over from Supervisor Scott Lignore as assistant roadmaster.The board also adopted a motion to recommend to the township auditors a raise in the roadmaster salary to $5,700 per year.Other positionsFazio will be the township representative for the Carbon County Tax Collection Committee. Meckes will serve as the alternate.Katrina White will be secretary to the planning commission.Mauch Chunk Trust will be the designated township repository.Barry Isett and Associates will serve as township engineers, building code official, building inspector, commercial building inspector, third-party building inspector, zoning officer, code enforcement officer, and sewage and water enforcement officer.Carl Fazio was appointed to the vacancy board.Emergency management coordinator will once again be William Gibson. The position of assistant emergency management coordinator is being left open temporarily.The planning commission members are:William English through Dec. 31, 2019, William Miller through Dec. 31, 2018, and Chris Rau through Dec. 31, 2020.Zoning hearing board members are:Audrey Wargo through Dec. 31, 2017, Patrick Walsh through Dec. 31, 2018, and Paul Fogal through Dec. 31, 2019. Shawn Kresge will continue to serve as the alternate zoning board member.The monthly board of supervisors meetings will be held on the first Monday of the month, unless Monday is a holiday, in which case the meeting will be on the first Tuesday of the month. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the township building.The municipal building hours for the year are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.SalariesThe board of supervisors will be paid $2,500 per year as set by Ordinance No. 1 of 2011. Full-time laborers are paid $15.04 per hour, part-time at $14.01 per hour. Administrative Assistants are paid $14.53 per hour.
