First UCC

First United Church of Christ, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton will hold a joint worship service with St. Paul's at First UCC. They will share in the Sacrament of Communion together. The service is a 10 a.m.Model RailroadThe Carbon Model Railroad Society's Holiday Open House at 529 Ore St., Bowmanstown, continues Jan. 7 and 8 from 1-5 p.m. Admission is free; donations are welcome. The main HO scale display is in various stages of completion and is an excellent learning tool. The clubs HO and N displays are also in operation and there is a model railroad yard sale. The next event for the society will be the Spring Train Meet on March 26.Concourse ClubThe Palmerton Concourse Club will hold its first meeting of the new year at 7 p.m. Jan. 5.Meetings are held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton. The program will be presented by Marlyn Kissner, executive vice president of Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Northern Division. Through the chamber's grass roots efforts, Marlyn works closely with volunteer leaders to support and strengthen our community and our local economy by implementing programs and networking opportunities for chamber businesses. Park on the even side of the street on an even-numbered day.
