State police at Schuylkill Haven report the following:

• Carmen M. Burgos, 50, of Reading, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol/controlled substance after a one-vehicle crash at 8:04 a.m. Dec. 17 on Municipal Road in West Brunswick Township.Police said he was driving a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero westbound when it began to spin clockwise, traveling off the road and landing in a ditch, after which time police said it was determined that he was under the influence.He was not injured.• A Reading man was injured when he fell asleep while driving at 4:15 p.m. Dec. 21 at the intersection of Route 183 and Earl Stoyer Drive in Wayne Township.Police said Joseph Soto, 28, was non-mechanically extricated from his vehicle and flown to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.Police said he was southbound on Route 183 when he fell asleep and the car drifted off the roadway about 12 feet, striking an embankment. Police said the angle of the embankment caused the vehicle to flip onto its roof, coming to rest about 10 feet from the initial impact.Police did not specify whether a passenger in the vehicle, Michael Soto, 27, also of Reading, was injured.The driver was cited for careless driving and driving while his license is suspended.
