Oxygen mask kits for pets donated

Shawn Prochaska, left, a 24-year firefighter, and Mike Schweitzer, owners of Invisible Fence Inc. in Lehighton, in collaboration with Frank Beckett, co-coordinator for Carbon County Animal Response Team, donated a combined 18 specially designed pet oxygen mask kits to properly equip fire departments in the area with the tools to save pet lives in the event of fire-related smoke inhalation. Prochaska demonstrated the use of the pet masks with sizes for large and small breeds, and distributed the kit bags to the fire chiefs serving different municipalities in Carbon County at the Emergency Management Center's monthly meeting in Nesquehoning.
