The Monroe County commissioners held its final meeting of the year, and it was brief.

The commissioners approved a number of appointments:• Commissioners John Moyer, Charles Garris and John Christy, along with William Blake and Dr. Raul Coronado were appointed to the board of trustees for Pleasant Valley Manor for 2017.• Debra Ranieri was appointed to the Retirees and Senior volunteer Program Advisory Board through Dec. 31, 2019.• Julia Carter was reappointed to a new term on the Carbon, Monroe, Pike Mental Health Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board with a term expiring Dec. 31, 2019.• Rich Schlameuss was reappointed to the Monroe County Planning Commission through Dec. 31, 2020.• Approved a request from the Conservation District to appoint Andrea Mikol to the Lake Wallenpaupack Management District Board.Professional services agreements for solicitor's services were approved for the following:• Acott Amori for register and recorder and coroner• Ralph Matergia for county treasurer• James Fareri for county commissioners (jail)• David Horvath for county controller• Todd Weitzmann for prothonotary/clerk of courtsThe commissioners also approved a lease agreement with the Stroud Area Regional Police Commission to continue renting space for Magisterial District Judge Muth at a rate of $3,576.96 per month with a 3.5 percent annual increase.A professional services agreement was executed with RKR Hess to prepare bidding documents for various bridge projects in the amount of $80,000.The commissioners closed the meeting by wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
