A Nesquehoning man who admitted to borough police that he "shot up" heroin on Wednesday morning was taken into custody after he staggered into a woman's residence on Catawissa Street.

Chief Sean Smith charged Robert C. Cesanek, 30, ofWest Catawissa Street, with disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, public drunkenness, criminal trespass, defiant trespass and simple assault/attempt to menace.Cesanek was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek of Lansford and then transported to Carbon County Correctional Facility after being unable to post bail, which had been set at $20,000.According to the affidavit, Smith said he was dispatched at 10:43 a.m. to investigate a report of a suspicious male knocking and banging on doors, appearing to be under the influence. Upon arriving at Holland Street, the police chief observed Cesanek on the back porch of a home, where he was staggering with his eyes closed.Police said the man denied knocking on doors. He began to stretch, at which time two baggies that contained a substance Smith identified as heroin fell from his waistband to the ground, resulting in his arrest for possession of a controlled substance.Smith said he and off-duty police officer Derek Marouchoc spoke tothe caller, who appeared to be very upset and scared. Shetold officers that Cesanek was banging on her door. When she opened it, he entered her residence, which was also occupied bya 6-year-old child.The womansaid Cesanek staggered around the woman's living room and appeared to be "on something." She called her neighbor for help and telephoned 911, while telling the unwanted visitor to leave.Cesanek left the home and began walking on Holland Street, where Smithfound him.Police said when they got the man to the police station, they found five additional red and white baggies of heroin and three syringes on Cesanek. He then admitted to Smith that he "did shoot up" heroin about an hour and a half before the incident.A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 4.
