Marian's Plesh named to All-State football team

Marian's Kyle Plesh was named to the 2016 Pennsylvania Football Writers Class 1A All-State football team.

Plesh, a 6-0, 249-pound senior, was selected to the team as a defensive lineman.Plesh had 120 tackles for the Colts this season, including five quarterbacks sacks and 16 tackles for loss.This is the third time in the last four seasons that Marian has been represented on the All-State team. In 2013, the Colts' Lucas Damian was named to the team and in 2014 Marian was represented by both Nick Sully and Joe Damiano.The Class 1A, 3A and 5A teams were all released on Monday. The Class 2A, 4A and 6A teams will all be released on Tuesday.In addition to Plesh, 10 other District 11 players were named to the all-state teams.In Class 1A, Williams Valley placed four players on the squad - junior running back Dylan Rabuck, junior defensive lineman Devon Rabuck, senior offensive lineman Ian Minnich and junior linebacker Dylan Wolfgang. Tri-Valley junior Danny Scheib also made the team as an athlete.In Class 3A, North Schuylkill senior linebacker Major Jordan, Pen Argyl senior defensive end Austin Heisler and Notre Dame senior athlete Jalen Simpson made the team.In Class 5A, Whitehall had two players on the team - junior wide receiver Dez Boykin and senior defensive back Jackson Buskirk.
