The Lehighton Area Middle School Music Department will present its free annual holiday program on Tuesday in the high school auditorium.

Snow date is Wednesday. The instrumental groups will begin at 6:30 p.m. while the choral groups will begin at 7:45 p.m.The Jazz Ensemble will begin the program with "Herald Angel Swing," a Count Basie-inspired piece, featuring eighth-graders Corbin Frisvold on trumpet and Zachary Fisher on drums.The jazz ensemble will also perform "Feliz Navidad," featuring Benjamin Thomas on tenor saxophone.The fifth- and sixth-grade band will perform "Marching with the Angels," arranged by Sandy Feldstein.It will also perform an arrangement of the 19th-century British carol "The Holly and the Ivy." The band's final selection will be a rock-inspired arrangement of Pierpont's "Jingle Bells."The seventh- and eighth-grade concert band's first selection will be the James Curnow's "Jolly Old Sleigh Ride." Next, the band will perform "O Little Town of Bethlehem" by Mark Williams."Hanukkah is Here," composed by Scott Watson, will be its final selection.The choral portion of the program will continue with the show choir, Music Express, which will open with "My Christmas Sweater" by Roger Emerson, followed by a blend of "Frosty the Snowman" and "Frosty and the Hand Jive."The show choir will conclude its performance with "Text Me Merry Christmas" by Schlesinger and Javerbaum. Mackenzie Light, Jaiden Muffley and Corbin Frisvold will be featured on this selection.The Treble Chorale, consisting of fifth- and sixth-graders, will perform "It's Christmas Time," which is a blend of "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" and original material.They will also perform another blended selection called "This Peaceful Night."The chorale will conclude its performance with "Winter Wonderland" and "Reindeer Jive."The Choraliers, the seventh- and eighth-grade chorus, will open its portion of the program with "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" and an original madrigal titled "Throw Open Your Shutters!"Next, Mazzy Mickey, Jonathan Macsay, Ashley Beers, Abigail Buffington, Emily DeKorte, James Lindenmoyer, Nicholas Hrusovsky, Aaron Miller and Roger Pomposello with be featured on "One Small Star.""Chapua Kali Desemba," featuring Corbin Frisvold and meaning "Chasing the Wild Winds of December" in Swahili, will be the next selection.The Choraliers will conclude their portion of the program with Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You" featuring eighth-grader Hannah Smith.Ninth-grader Calvin Maholick will accompany the chorus for its first two selections.
